Scottish artist born in
1953 to Italian parents. Initially a mining
engineer in the coalfields, only starting to
paint full time in 1988. In 1992 three paintings
were accepted by the London Royal Academy's
Summer Exhibition and later in the same year his
held his first solo exhibition.
His commercially appealing paintings have been a
huge success and he has been likened to Edward
Hopper and Walt Sickert.
In 2004 his painting the Singing Butler sold for
$1.3million.
